Best features of the lights out there and at an incredible price to boot!

Purchased two of these for rescue and wildfire use but I have taken it out of the pack for use at home on a regular basis. PROS: Price, can't touch it. Rear red LED, working trailside, around equipment or on a crew this is a must. Tilting head, it puts the light where you need it, even with bifocals. Spot beam, nice focused light with the intensity you need finding your way along a trail, through the woods or open field. Variable intensity, low power mode works fine for non-critical work and extends battery. AA vs AAA, the AA are readily available in a lot of agencies, more so than AAA. Comfort, the light is comfortable if worn without a hat Price, did I mention the price . . . CON: On one of my lights the rear red led failed and the front light flickers off. I don't know if it is a switch issue or what. I plan to send it in. It is a little funky on my hard hat due to its chinstrap but with a little adjusting it works fine. OVERALL: I can buy two or three of these for the price of a comparable light made by high-end company. It does just what I need it to do and gives out more light than expected.

Bad switch makes an otherwise excellent flashlight worthless.

By edaho from Idaho, USA on 12/31/2014

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Received this as a Christmas present from my son. It has a brilliant beam, but right away there was a problem with the switch not turning the light on. For awhile just bumping the end on the light on the palm of my hand would make it come on. Now it won't turn on at all. It's a solid, well machined light, but why they didn't put a regular switch on it instead of a mini-circuit board is beyond me. I see that other people have had trouble with the switch too. It's an expensive light for having this much trouble with it.
