I'm a college student and my 3 yr old Gateway laptop fried in the middle of the semester even though I took VERY good care of it. This time around I did my research and wanted a laptop that was going to last. My friends and boyfriend have HP's and Toshiba's, but they have issues with hardware and them running VERY HOT. I have a couple other samsung products, and know that they're built to last. I was disappointed that samsung laptops aren't carried in U.S. stores, and I had to hunt the internet for reviews, which the only ones I could find were british. But I liked what I read, and decided to take a chance and buy a Samsung. It is a very powerful system for a pretty low price! I can have it up and running for 7+ hours and the bottom of the laptop and power adapter brick will only be slightly warm. You can barely, if at all, hear the fan; but it does an excellent job at keeping the laptop cool! It isn't loaded with unwanted software like other brands. Great graphics and screen clarity (you can see the picture perfect from all angles w/out inversion of colors). It is obvious that samsung spent the majority of the money making sure that it was built correctly and with quality parts, instead of focusing solely on the "sweet looks" aspect (I could really care less whether my laptop has colors, swirls, and designs on the casing. I just want it to run great and LAST!). However, it is very classy looking, and the keyboard is comfortable to use. OVERALL: LOOKS GREAT, RUNS GREAT, DURABLE and QUALITY laptop.
