Dissapointment

By stoney4474 from Undisclosed on 12/03/2009

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I bought this camera last year sometime so i could make videos with moviemaker and couldn't then i took it on my senior trip to Orlando to film it and yes it works great for filming and i like its design and quality of video other than has a chip on an interior lens so i have a blur spot. Another thing is even though i have the film on the SDHC chips i cant put them on my computer becuase its not good enough i have windows xp with a 2.6ghz processor and need a 3.0 so i can still upload the raw footage to youtube but cant edit it or add 2 in one so its really upsetting.

Bang for your buck, but has a few defects

By toymachine484 from Undisclosed on 10/28/2009

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Some serious bang for your buck, with great video and audio quality. There are a few things that are not so great on this camera though. For one, the file format, MP4, is NOT compatible with windows movie maker, and the editing software that comes with the camera is quite disappointing. (it doesn't even have a timeline, and you have to start all over if you change your mind on the desired order of the video clips) A very basic camera, for a beginner in filming.

The SC-MX20: A Value Priced Camcorder

By Opie from Central New Jersey on 08/07/2009

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

In the month or more that I have had the SC-MX20 I have had the opportunity to shoot several videos. I'm impressed with the clarity both of the video and of the audio. The camera is simple to use and yet offers any number of manual options. These allow the casual as well as the intermediate user the flexability that makes this camera a joy to use. I consider it a valuable and remarkable purchase. I have been pleased with battery life and with image stabilization. It seems to adapt extremely well to variations in lighting. If I were to point out any shortcomings with the unit, I would be remiss in not pointing out a couple of small items. The internal lens cap is sometimes cumbersome to reach as is the power switch with you hand in the camera strap. I would gladly recommend the SC-MX20 to anyone looking for an entry level camcorder. This is one satisfied customer.
