Great product and easy to install

By Ronn from Oak Park, MI on 02/17/2015

Pros:

Easy To Use

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This was soooo easy to install. The instructions were clear and concise and including the tools that came with the mount was an awesome idea. The price was extremely competitive and acceptable. Having the TV mounted on the wall was something to get used to but after a couple movies it seems like it's always been set up this way and it's even easier to enjoy television. Now I just need to see if you have products that allow me to hide all my cables and wires.

If at first you can't succeed, fix the directions!

By AMS1 from Lutz, FL on 02/10/2015

Pros:

Good Quality

Cons:

Poor Design And/or Instructions

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I have nothing against the mount, as it does the job and seems to be of quality materials. My complaint, which I noticed others have as well, is that if you use the spacer/washer on the outside of the top brackets AND the top hole you'll end up giving yourself a hernia. The reason is that the darn screws sit right where the brackets catch, so that when trying to hook the wall mount they simply can't attach. Granted it would have been easier not hanging a 55" TV by myself, but the instructions should REALLY warn the user that the "A" configuration is doomed to fail for many users even with TVs that are perfectly flat in the back. The next evening when I tried it again using the "B" configuration, it was a simple task to get the brackets to catch on the mount and lock into position. So in summary, CHANGE THE DARN DIRECTIONS or at least warn users that using the top hole and the "A" configuration is futile.

Okay tv mount once installed

By Hans from Shelby Township, MI on 12/30/2014

Cons:

Difficult To Use

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Bought this to mount my 55" samsung on the wall. Well there are special spacers that go with Samsung tvs and longer screws too. Since I wanted the tv as close as possible to the wall I placed the spacers above the the bracket that mounts to the back of the tv which makes the bracket closer to the wall.....Well that brings the head of the screw also further out and closer to the part of the bracket that hooks to the wall plate that is mounted to the wall. Leaves little room if any to "hook" your tv and basically you need to slide your tv down with force to catch the top hooks and get them to catch without the head of the screws getting in the way. I was able to mount finally but was a bit clumsy and scary. Obviously there are issues with Samsung Tvs or Sanus would not have packed in special instructions (mentioning not to use the provided washers) and to use the longer screws provided. Still needs to be better communication between Sanus and the TV manufacturers. Happy it is up and done but a frustrating installation.

Sanus Fixed Mount VLL5-B1

By Farnorth49 from Alaska on 12/20/2014

Pros:

Good Quality

Cons:

Difficult To Use

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I had a limited vertical space to mount my UHD Samsung 50". After the third try I got the vertical and horizontal leveling correct. Not what I would call user friendly and I'm an average carpenter. The problem lies in the non-centered bracket attaching to the rear of the TV near the top one-third of the TV I had purchased. There should be a web available description of the vertical clearance (from top edge of TV) required to mount a specific brand and model of TV purchased.

Typical Mount

By Arcoiris54 from Middletown, CT on 05/30/2014

Pros:

Meets Expectations

Cons:

Expensive

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

This is overpriced in my opinion. I've bought tilting and pull out mounts for far less. This item was a gift so I wouldn't of bought it. It sits too close to the wall. So hard to get to the back even with the help of the pull downs.
