Great picture, easy to setup. HDMI inputs to: Cable box & Xbox360 with HD-DVD player, Component to XBOX, and PC connection thru the DVI port and every thing looks great. I researched the unit for about a month, visited several local retailers but most had discontinued the product over the newer Sharp LC-42D64U. While the new unit is ALOT thinner, it lacked a DVI port and there's some speculation Sharp may have opted for cheaper components to make the new unit more attractive price-wise. Only complaint is the unit is very large especially compared to newer models, it is almost twice the thickness. The model is rated for wall mount but at 75lb, I prefer it on the stand which is included. Some have complained the speakers are a bit weak, for a bedroom it is more the sufficient but you will probably want external speakers for a living room.

Great picture clear crisp & bright. Also the TV has an excellent viewing angle so one can watch it from the side. The controls on the TV are simple and straight forward, however the remote control is not. The TV was very easy to set up and get connected. My theory is that if you need a manual to set up a product then it's too complicated - for this product a manual wasn't needed. [...]

Very intuitive menu. Well marked inputs. Very sleek and attractive design. Works well in bright light environment....good for off-axis viewing. Needs extensive tweaking of picture at set-up but this is easy and kinda fun.

I was nervous purchasing such a fragile and expensive piece of electronics [...] Setting up the TV to scan for HD channels was very easy and within 5 minutes had the local HD channels playing. First thing I noticed was how bright the picture is. Second was the over-abundance of red in the picture. I'm used to calibrating monitors and this was very easy and intuitive without cracking open the manual. Once adjusted, the color reproduction is amazing and black levels are about as good as it gets for an LCD. Top marks for the picture quality. Next I flipped through a few analog channels and of course they look pitiful compared to the HD but still very watchable and of note...the stretch picture mode is amazing. I have had several 16:9 TV's and the stretch is very noticeable and annoying. I actually had to flip through the settings on the Sharp to see what it was set to. Excellent and transparent feature. While I won't use this to watch movies (Panasonic projector and 130" screen take care of that duty) I decided to check out the HDMI with a Sony upconvert DVD player. WOW! Amazing depth and clarity but that's what it's supposed to be. As soon as Bluray or HD-DVD become reasonable I will check out the full 1080p feature and I'm sure it'll be amazing too. I've read other reviews complaining of a weak audio output but I found it had enough oomph to be heard over the dishwasher and two toddlers playing. If you expect any real movie-type sound, forget it and get a proper system for that.I also checked out the DVI input with my Macbook Pro and once again, it looked REALLY good. A bit overkill for computer use though.Bottom line, this is one of the best LCD's in it's size and is VERY reasonably priced. It does require some tweaking to get the colors right but there's plenty of parameters and they are very easy to find and adjust. After the initial scare, I must say I'm very happy and would purchase this TV again.
