Pros:

Good Power, Easy To Set Up, Clean Sound, Durable, Accurate Controls, Versatile

Best Uses:

Smaller Rooms, Home Theater, Basic Systems

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I have a four room setup: living room (main), kitchen, bathroom, and backyard.Works perfectly in all or separate configurations with a minimal loss in the backyard speakers with the all on configuration, but probably due to cable run and not the unit itself.Setup was easy though banana post configuration left a little to be desired.[...]Thanks!!!

Outstanding for this low price

By The Old Listener Verified Purchaser from Eastern MA on 02/01/2008

Describe Yourself:

Tech Savvy, Musically Inclined

Pros:

Clean Sound, Easy To Set Up, Has Phono Input, Good Power, Accurate Controls

Best Uses:

Smaller Rooms, Basic Systems

Bottom Line:

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

This has a phono input, a must, and very rare, especially at this price. Sound is clean, noise-free, good output from low bass to high end. Controls pretty obvious and easy to use. A few minor annoyances: It doesn't power up directly, but goes into standby & I have to push a separate standby button for full turn-on; having to step through inputs one at a time; speaker posts too far apart for dual banana plugs; FM sensitivity could be a bit better. Can't rate durability after only 8 days, but... my first stereo components were a Sherwood tuner & an integrated amplifier (built-in pre-amp, new in those days), all with tubes!! (for those who remember them) They were excellent and lasted years, so I have high expectations for this receiver. I'd recommend it without reservation.

Superb receiver for what it's designed for. Rather unique features with 4 stereo channels! Simple/Basic operation with nice quality speaker cabling connectors. All in all, probably the best value out there in a basic receiver with more than the normal amount of channels.
