I have not used my tripod as I lost the clip and could not locate that size in several stores. I then went to A photo store in Manchester NH and they told me about you. I looked it up on the web and I was all set from there. I am very pleased.

exactly what i expected

I needed a low cost quick detach setup for a non-quick release tripod head. This works well for my 50mm spotting scope and would work fine for cameras with light lenses. I would however not recommend this for heavier equipment (80mm scopes etc..). The quick release plate is square shaped, so you can orient the latch in different ways to suit your tripod head. my biggest gripe is that there is a casting line that runs under the the mounting plate, which causes the mounted device to have a static cant. since i am using this for wildlife spotting, it doesnt bother me too much, but be wary of this if you are taking pictures, your tripod head should be able to adjust for this. i gave this 4 stars because it is not an exceptional or extraordinary product, but it is exactly what i needed for this application. bottom line: it's a plastic mount that is very inexpensive and should work well for light applications.

I used these units at a wedding and they worked pretty well. It's a bit tricky to attach at times, as I was having problems connecting the plate and the adapter. But, with practice, they work great. I have a GL2 and they seemed to hold it together pretty well.
