was hoping this would work

Bottom Line:

No, I would not recommend this to a friend

I was SOOOOOO hopeful this would work. I couldnt wait to get it home and try it. Upon opening the box it looked great, but thats where the excitement ended. I turned it on and waited for it to boot up. It went through all of its startup menus and then began searching for wireless. I keyed in my routers name and password. it recognized it and showed a full green signal. It would say "searching" then "connecting" then "disconnecting" over and over and over. In frustration I power cycled my modem and router and restarted the G tablet. None of this worked. I then called the 800# in the user manual. I got a really nice guy on the phone fairly quickly, however he had no idea how to solve the issue and repeatedly put me on hold so he could talk to senior tech support, who apparantely also had no idea how to fix. I asked if the G tablet would charge the battery to the unit while it was plugged into the USB of my desktop. They had no idea if it did. I was then told to hook the tablet up to the usb and I then asked if the usb and wall charger could be hooked up to it at the same time, again they had no idea if that was ok. I was then told to go to some website to download an update to my desktop that they thought might, maybe, possibly, could or would be the fix but I would need to download to desktop and then to the tablet. I was put on hold for sometime while tech guy tried to find the download. Finally he came back and said he couldnt find the link at that moment and to keep charging the battery. I didnt understand this as it was plugged into the wall and using electricity and not battery power. Finally they said the unit needed 50% battery power to access the internet. This was an odd answer to me and at that point I decided to return it. [...] I didnt try another one. I figured I would cut my loss and not gamble any further. So, in the end I never got to experience this product at all, other than to say it looks pretty and the touch pad was very responsive, but for [$] its a useless toy.
