This little unit is a nice cheap way to add HD (digital) radio to your car or even your home stereo. The main unit needs 12 volts (car battery or 750mA wall transformer). There is about 7 feet of wiring which make install locations very versatile. The control panel is wired, so you'll need to hide that wire for a nice looking install. The main unit gets surprisingly warm too, so fair ventilation is a good idea. I've got two of these units: one at my desk at work, on headphones; and one as an add-on to my main home stereo. Both are on 12v transformers and a piece of wire for an indoor antenna. The HD format is cool. Very few commercials on the "hidden" HD channels (so far). My only beef with HD so far is that when the FM signal get weak the stations totally cuts out, unlike normal FM where you may here static. If you were to install one in your car youll need access to both switched and unswitched 12 volts and an Auxiliary input to your current stereo. As an alternative you can use the units built-in FM transmitter to retransmit to you current stereo. The box come with two antenna patch cables for that. All in all, these small units are a lot of fun.
