Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
We were looking for a cheap canister vacuum that would still serve our purposes. We were pleasantly surprised with this Sanyo. It has fantastic suction, great maneuverability, and the size and weight are great too. This vacuum is so light we can carry it with us while we vacuum hard to reach places. A better hard-floor tool would improve it, as would more standard vacuum bags. We're happy with it so far.
