Hi Def and tivo create the perfect mix

Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

The setup is a snap, the TiVO connects via the internet without needing to hook up phone lines as did the prevouis version of TiVo, The Cable cards install and you have have a fully functional dual cable receiver. The only thing that was not well thought out is that this unit does not send or receive data from older Tivo units via the home network it is an island. There is no documention on the Tivo web site that states this, but after serveral calls TiVo customer support did acknowlage this. Overall this is a wonderful device and deliveres true hi def.

"I now have a Tivo Series 1, 2 and 3! My wife and I held off upgrading to HD TV until we could do it right...big flat panel and HD Tivo! We just bought the Sony 46"" XBR3 LCD HD TV and the Series 3 HD Tivo. What a terrific system! I was watching HD via over the air broadcast while waiting for my Tivo to arrive hoping the picture quality would not be degrade via a combination of cable (Charter) and Tivo. My worrys are over...the picture quality and Dolby Digital sound are absolutely perfect, as good as direct broadcast. Tivo S3 THX Certified works great, spectacular picture.....LOVE IT!"
