Universal Remote Rf20 Universal Rf20/u.rmt/10fct/lcd Screen/
Price & Shipping Information

Description
Put an end to the dreaded remote search. Designed for the A/V enthusiast, the RF20 can replace up to 10 remote controls, greatly simplifing home entertainment automation. Instantly access up to 40 of your favorite channels, and automate regular activities with the 432 macro buttons capable of remembering 190 command steps.
Did We Mention This Was Easy?
The RF20 comes pre-programmed with over 1,000 built-in codes from all major brands of home audio/video equipment, making setup a snap. The easy-to-read LCD screen on the RF20 can be customized with text labels for each component, so you'll be able to find the component you want quickly and easily. And the remote includes a convenient five-way thumbpad for operating your menu-driven components.
Lounging Around Just Took On A Whole New Meaning
If lounging around currently means jumping up every 20 minutes to find the remote for this component or that, Universal Remote Control is here to save the day. Capable of sending both IR (infrared) and RF (radio frequency) signals, the RF20 can be used in conjunction with the MRF100 receiver base station (sold separately) to control components throughout the house (up to 100 feet). After receiving RF signals from the RF20 universal remote control, the receiver unit converts them to IR commands and sends them to out-of-sight components via its built-in front blasters. The best part is, you don't have to point the remote, just push the buttons!
Take Control
SimpleSound is a dynamic feature that gives you total volume control over all the Components in your system, even those without their own built-in volume control, such as TiVo, DVD and VCR. It saves you the hassle and inconvenience of constantly needing to switch between component modes on the remote. With SimpleSound, you can set the RF10's volume control buttons to always control the sound in your system, even when you're in VCR or DVD mode, without switching back to AUDIO or TV. Even more exciting, SimpleSound? is what is called a 'Punch Through' feature and is not limited strictly to volume control. Click and enjoy!
It Just Keeps Getting Easier
The best thing about the RF20? It runs on four AAA batteries. That means no special trips to the electronics store to get the right battery. Plus, if the batteries do run out, the RF20 is capable of retaining your programming for up to ten years. And as an added bonus, if you are fortunate enough to own more than one RF20, you'll be happy to know that you can easily copy and transfer all the setup from one RF20 to another. Now that's easy!

I have used mostly the MRF-300 before RF-20. It is a great remote if you have one home theater system or don't use the RF. The RF can't be turned off. If you have two locations, one with the RF receiver and one without, you might have problems. Otherwise identical to the MRF-300. Very good for a place with that only needs one universal remote.

I have 2 of of these to handle both of my A/V setups (since I have some similar devices ex. 2 Panasonic DVD players) I was able to copy one remote to the other. I've lost (or ruined a remote or 2 in my time - so now the first thing I do is add new components to the RF-20)PROS:If you're a tecni-phobe: the basic setup is as easy as much less competent devices. You'll still have the reward of a remote which has a much more powerful signal than most devices and will rarely need to use original remotes. But even the tech-challenged will find it a piece of cake to simply 'teach' a few commands to the RF-20 using the 'LEARN" function. (For those who've never used a 'learning remote' -- this allows you to add special functions that might not come pre-programmed, or those you wish to cusomize.)For geeks: the Macros (which can contain a pause function) are extremely reliable. The Layout of buttons is extremely logical tho some will find this remote a little large and heavy. There are quite a few other features it would take a while to explain - but in general, you can get this remote to do anything with a little customization.Possibly the most useful are: the ability to rename functions on the menu screen (so they can mimic those of the orignal remote), and the ability to add or delete 'pages', functions etc.CONS: The one oversight is the abscence of at least 3 or 4 on/off buttons: To turn devices on or off, you have to return to the main screen, then to the device, back to the main screen, then to the device you wish to use....You can set up macros to work around this - but unless your starting with all devices on or off (or your lucky enuf to have components which have seperate on/off buttons) this will never be reliable. The best solution I've found is to add TV & or Receiver on macros to all other components.MANUAL & SUPPORT: the manual is just about adequate (it suffers primarily from layout flaws - like the need to change pages in the middle of an action. But most of the info IS there, you'll learn it all in time.As far as I can tell, there's NO (phone or email) SUPPORT. So you're on your own. Fortunately, it's really pretty ease to use.SUMMARY:I've tried numerous universal remotes (including the perfectly dreadful Harmony remote), None are perfect, but this is by far the best I've ever used. With a little effort it can do anything (and occasionally more) than your original remote.
