The Yamaha HTR-5890 digital home theater receiver is a full-featured digital home theater receiver that sports some serious features. Component video-up conversion takes S-video and composite signals and converts them into a component signal. This not only ensures the highest quality video from any source, it means you only need one connection to your HDTV monitor. No more switching inputs according to your source--it can all go through the component video connection.

The receiver uses discrete power transistors rather than chips to provide the cleanest sound possible. The amp delivers 140 watts each to seven channels.

With eight digital inputs (five optical and three coaxial, fixed and assignable), the HTR-5890 can accommodate digital sources such as DVD, CD, MC/CDR, and digital TV/cable. Two optical digital outputs assure the finest possible signal leaving the receiver for your other components. The receiver incorporates component video inputs, providing outstanding video connections. You also get seven S-video inputs and two outputs. In addition to the wide range of inputs and outputs, the HTR-5890 also includes a set of front panel A/V inputs for simple temporary connection.
