The zoom is fantastic but the actual image quality has me thinking about changing cameras already. For the average family shooter it is a very good all around camera. For someone like myself who is working toward being an amateur photographer it is just not quite good enough.

First of all, get an H type card rather than the M type, with the M type you lose some functionality. I have now had the camera 2 weeks and have tested it quite a bit and the pictures are superb. Some of the Screen presets are very useful, such as shooting through glass. It is important to read the manual to get full functionality, otherwise you will not get full use of the camera.

The only real negative so far is that the included manual is not very helpful. For example it tells you that certain user modes can be customized and tells you what camera functions can be customized to the user modes, but not actually how to do it. No step by step instructions, and what buttons to push, etc. Hopefully Olympus is going to release an advanced users manual like they have for virtually all their other digicams.
Aside from the one negative mentioned above,I love everything about this camera. The zoom range is amazing. It really reaches way out there. Macro shots from this camera are outstanding. Pretty amazing considering its long telephoto reach. This camera has great potential. Once I can get the hang of customizings user modes for my particular needs, I will probably consider this as one of my favorite cameras of all time.
