I use this on a large recording console surface. It's the only pad I've found that works well in this recording studio environment.

This is my second Metal Art mouse pad my first one lasted me about 4 years and then I purchased a second because the laminate started coming off but seeing as I got 4 years use out of it I am totally satisfied by the quality of this product. It non slip smooth tracking are a real asset I won't work without it, I word in AutoCAD design and I need a mouse that tracks cleanly and accurately and this mouse pad does it all.

This mousepad is very good, but in heavy use top of the pad changes into glossy so my optical mouse has troubles on it.
Great mousepad! Very smooth with laser mice; doesn't slide around desk; very clean professional look.

This is a great mouse pad.[...]
I've used mine for over three years and it is absolutely stellar for the gaming & general purposes I have put it through. I use it in conjunction with an MX510 Logitech.
It tracks very smoothly, not jumpy at all and it doesn't slip. It doesn't look goofy like a ton of (read: most) mousepads do. It's not made of fabric, which is something I hate about most mousepads. The size is great, and it's super-duper easy to clean. I can't even really think of anything bad about it.
All in all, the best mousepad I've ever owned. I recommended this to everyone I've known who plays any games on their PC.
Nice size heavy so it doesn't move around while using and it even matches the rest of my computer equipement.
I have Logitech mx1000 and it works like dream with metal pad. When I changed my pad to this metal pad, I did get right away new feeling of my lasermouse. Even price wasn't so bad after I got it under my mouse. Now I really can continue my photo editing. Excelent ALLSOAP!

Difficult to make fine aiming corrections while playing FPS games. Heck, attempting to click on a desktop icon is trying my patience. Tried teflon mice feet and that didn't help.

One big problem i had with traditional mouse surfaces is that they moved while i would be playing games, the metal base and grip bottom ensure real solid placement. works exceptional with my G5 gaming mouse, also accentuates my Saitek II KB. very easy cleaning. i worry about the metal frame though, it seems very nicely painted but i have a problem with my palms getting sweaty. i wonder if the metal frame would rust or the paint may wear off. ive owned it for about 2 months and it is a great mousepad.

Great mousepad, I really enjoy the metal aspect. The mouse glides very well. It is bigger than your average mousepad which is a plus. Very sleek design.

Pros:
Very smooth, lightly textured hard plastic pad.
Backside has a firm grip, pad does not unintentionally at all.
Looks nice.
Cons:
Size is a little small for low-sens gamers.
Thickness is noticable.
Surface scratches easily, be sure to keep the pad clean.
My mouse with Teflon feet just glide on this with little friction - too little in fact. I'm going to be replacing this with a pad with a little more friction, but this shouldn't be seen as a criticism of the product, just a personal preference.
[...]As you can see from the picture, the pad has a nice silver metal outline and a grey carbon-fiber like appearance. I have this exact pad at my home and love it. It looks great. Well I decided to order another one for my office. Well, I didnt get what was pictured. The size and shape was the same. However, the metal is kind of a off silver/gold color... and the mat is black with splothes of white here and there. It almost looks like the black color didnt get applied very well. [...]The pad is ok, but I am dissatisfied with the appearance [...].
This pad really works well for tracking. The surface will wear in and look stratched up but that actually improves tracking with laser mice. Tracks perfectly on my G5, but does build up film on the pad itself with time. It's bottom is so no-slip that you could even stick it to your fridge.
I picked up this pad last night [...].I do alot of online gaming (FPS,RPG,etc)and the previous mouse pads would constantly slide due to me moving the mouse in the heat of battle. The weight of the pad doesn't move in "combat" which is a good thing.:)I would always have to situate the old mouse pad during gaming which effected my play. It's comfortable to use, decently sized, and looks pretty good as well.I'm using the pad with a MS LaserMouse 6000 and a MS optical mouse. Both glide across this surface without a problem.

This is by far the best pad I got.
You do need some time to get used to it.
Does not slip.
Large and really smooth surface.
Maybe it is expensive at first but I've had mine for ? 5 years and it is still worht it.
Can not ask for more.

the only thing that scares me,,,,,,and this is the 2nd i own,,,,,,,,,is that i use a g7 and i hope it do,s not wear out the bottom of my 100.00 mouse,,,,,i have 2 pc,s and it over time has scuffed the bottom of my mx 1000 laser mouse.

I would have nothing but praise about this product, however I use it with a Logitech g7 gaming mouse. One of the big selling points on the g7 is the teflon foot pads which ensure a smooth slide. The plastic surface of the mousepad however strips the teflon off of the mouse and builds up a film on the freqeuently rubbed areas. After a week or so the defective area interfears with mouse movement so poorly i have to scrub the thing down with a kitchen sponge for about five min to get it clean.

This is a very solid mousepad that will stay put and will not move at all, even in a violent gaming session--something that is very important to me. Also, in the speech and debate year, it worked as an excelent hand-held writing space that was very firm, very smoothe and compact enough that I could take notes. That is something that very few mousepads, if any, can claim. Very sturdy, the only bad experience I have with it is in my dorm right now, where it is under the AC vent and metal being metal, it is the temperature of the room, but I will have a cold mousepad that is very solid and firm over a flimsy one any day. Except if I get stuck to it...but that's too hardcore of an application.

On a hot day the rubber backing peeled off, leaving a gluey, very sticky mess that won't wash off hands, computer, etc. without solvent.
Thin metal mousepad fits in a laptop bad easily, but adds a lot of weight.

A very cheap priced mat but high priced features, very impressed

[...]This is better than any mouse pad I have ever had. I usulay will go through a pad in about 6 mo. but this one is built to last. I think I may need to get some pliers to pry the plastic off of this babby! It makes any mouse glide with ease. This is the pad for you!

I've heard both sides with the laser mouse issue on this surface, however my own experiences with this pad and the Microsoft Wireless Laser Mouse 5000 have been flawless. I've done a lot of work with Adobe products, and I decided with this new mouse I needed a solid, professional mousing surface. I saw this and new I found what I needed. This is a solid, versatile mouse pad that will not scoot or slide across the desk. I've not had a single hitch with using this laser mouse on this mousing surface. It just glides so smoothly across.

I bought it [...] and think it's great. It's sturdy and feels solid and well made. It's easy to clean and sticks like glue to my desk. The surface is perfect, really smooth and precise and it looks really slick.
Can you tell I really like this mouse pad?

If you own a laser mouse DO NOT get this pad! My MX1000 laser mouse worked great on almost every surface I could think of except this one. The cursor jumps around the screen, and sometimes won't even move. My cheap $2 rubber mouse pad works better than this. True, it looks great - but it's not worth it if you've spent a lot on a high-performance laser mouse only to get poor response from a bad mouse pad.

together with the Logitech MX518, the best gaming equipment I ever had!!

It was a well made product. Hard to use with a laser mouse. It acts really jumpy with this mouse pad.

Great mousepad, for a great price. When i went out looking for a new mousepad, this is the only one that caught my eye. I could of bought a plastic, floppy, and flexible mouse pad that probably would of peeled around the edges in a week or to, or buy this allsop metalic mousepad. Of course I made the good decision and bought this one for roughly the same amount of the floppy plastic mousepad. [...]
My microsoft laser 6000 series mouse glides across this mousepad almost as if I put a fine coating of Ky jelly on the sucker.
The wide surface never lets me go off the side of my mousepad during a Match.

I use this pad on top of my Wacom tablet and it rocks. I hate the Wacom mouse, and when I need to switch back and forth between a mouse and a tablet pen (or play games), this pad no only makes it easy due to the metal backing plate, but my laser mouse glides on it like air.

I use my PC alot and got tired of mice with the tracking ball big time. Got a new wireless optical mouse and needed a PRO surface to use it on. This fits the bill prefectly! The large surface sold me on it and the metal frame work outstanding!

First thing i noticed was how large this mouse pad was. Had to rearrange my desk to get that proper feel for gaming.
My MX518 moves across the surface like an air hockey puck. Only resistance produced is from my mouse cord. Nearly impossible for the pad itself to slide across your desktop during gaming.
One addition i would like to see is something on the pad to anchor my mouse cord.
Worth the purchase.

my gf bought me this mousepad for valentines day 2005 and i love it. my 510 glides effortlessly across it and the accuracy is unparalleled with any pad out there. you all know what the cloth pads do, they get dirty and the ends start fraying. this will be a problem of the past. ALLSOP should come with every mouse made.
I went down to [...] today and got me one. I was kind of skeptical about getting it since its a hard plastic surface. But after useing it, I love this mousepad. Probably the best mousepad I've used in a long time. Helps my accuracy in all the FPS's I play, and just feels great.

what happened allsopused to have quality products i love their flimys decoractive mousepads and the many other provducts they have made over the years, but im not pleased with solid steel mouse pads, wish they would replace but they stoped that to..
the rubber backing comes off after 1 day of having product, and after removing the backing from tabe the balck residue was left behind very hard to remove, screwed up my table top, as its nice once u get the back cleaned up with goo-gone it works great for a lap top mouse pad wich is what i bought it for bt liked the non skid bottom surface but again low quality materials used for the bottom, other than that i would look around a bit more untill u find better pad..

I took a trip out to the Best Buy in town and aside from a few things I needed a mouse pad. I saw this 1 standing out from the others and after reading the back i said a performance mouse pad for 16 bucks cant be to great. Most others online go for 30-50 bucks. After plopin this baby on the desk wow. My mx-518 slides gracefully and is very responsive. I also like the fact that this pad stays in place unlike some others I had. It also has a pretty large surface compared to others which I also liked. Very, very good mousepad I suggest this for anyone in need of a pad.
All I can say is "WOW", this is absolutely the best mouse pad I have ever owned. I was first skeptical, being that I have nevered seen or heard of a metal mouse pad, but I was sold after just 5 minutes of use.

the best i ever had

If you've only ever used cloth mouspads then you are in for a shock - a few minutes using the Allsop Metal Art pad is enough to realise that cloth is dead and metal is in!
The pad is very well designed - it's not too ugly and will blend in with your system (no "comedy" image is a plus too!), it's also very sturdy (which you would expect from a metal pad) and won't flex or bend during use.
Tracking is exceptionally accurate due to the quality materials used, and the fine slightly textured finish which both optical and ball mice will love.
I recently upgraded to a laser mouse and coupled with the metal art pad it really is a fantasticaly accurate combination. The mouse glides over the hard surface very smoothly and the tracking is perfect.
I whole-heartedly recommend this pad not only to gamers but also for any computer user who has ever looked accusingly at his mouse as it mis-tracked or failed to respond to your movements - it won't happen when you use this pad. :)

I bought a $50 Laser mouse and wanted something more then an $4 mouse pad to use it on. I liked the looks of the Allsop Charcoal Metal Art Mouse Pad when I saw it, but I wasnt sure of the response time or comfort during extensive use. I have found it to be an excelent mousing surface overall and more then reasonable in price. Response time for gaming is without lag or studder. The pad is very low profile and does'nt raise your hand or wrist is an unnatural possision. Its great for hardcore fragging and everyday computing. I wouldnt hessitate to suggest to my friends the Metal Art Mouse Pad for work or play.
