- FST PURE Picture Tube
This is the ultimate in Toshiba Color Television Tube technology. This
"purely flat" tube delivers increased viewing angle along with the
enhanced picture linearity necessary to produce accurate lifelike
images. This feature eliminates unwanted reflections from room
lighting, which is a common problem in conventional tube designs. It
also improves sharpness and brightness.
- 3-Line Digital Comb Filter
Chrominance and luminance signals are converted to a digital medium
prior to separation and 2H delay. This process provides enhanced color
purity and reduced dot crawl. Vertical and diagonal correction
performed in a digital medium provides highly accurate chrominance and
luminance signal separation. An advanced comb filter is able to
eliminate detail noise in intricate scenes as well as reduce dot crawl
and color bleed from broadcast sources.
- 3 Line Digital Comb Filter
Filter processes the picture to minimize unwanted artifacts, improving
edge detail and smoothness.
- 16:9 Modes with Vertical Compression
Toshiba provides two consumer selectable 16:9 Modes for display of a
widescreen HDTV image on a 4:3 television. The Compression Mode
creates black bars at the top and bottom of the screen and displays
all 1080 lines inside the illuminated 16:9 portion of the screen. The
Letterbox Mode actively scans the entire screen, creating gray bars
above and below the picture area. This mode significantly reduces the
chances of uneven CRT wear or "burn-in" when compared to the
Compression Mode. The television is set in the full mode before
leaving the factory and the final widescreen option is left to the
consumer.

- Double Baffle Stereo Speaker System
This front firing speaker design delivers the most stereo sound
reproduction available from a television's internal speaker system.
- Surround Sound
Allows the consumer to enjoy an enhanced home theater experience
without connection of external speakers. Most Toshiba televisions
incorporate some type of surround processing.
- StableSound
This feature maintains television volume within a preset range
regardless of the source signal.
* CONVENIENCE
- Channel Return
Pressing this button returns you to the last channel you were viewing.
- Channel Lock
Selected channels can be locked out to prevent viewing. Channels can
be unlocked by entering a secret code.
- Channel Labeling
Channel Labeling allows you to put the Call Letters (e.g., ABC, HBO,
etc.) on the screen along with the station numbers, so you always know
what channel you are watching. Stereo has a narrow sweet spot.
- Closed Captioning
Dialog is displayed on screen in a manner similar to subtitles in
movies.
- ColorStream Component Video Input
For connections with many of today's latest equipment.
- Favorite Channel
This feature allows you to designate up to nine of your most
frequently viewed channels as favorite channel. Engaging this feature
will allow you to scan only your pre-selected favorite channels. Two
independent sets of nine channels can be selected, allowing two
different viewers to enjoy this feature on one set.
- Front Panel A/V Inputs
For added convenience, front A/V connections allow easy hook up for
video games, camcorders, etc.
- GameTimer
Enabling the GameTimer feature allows a parent to set the television
to shut off after a specified period of time. The television will stay
off until a lockout key code is entered.

Use of Separated (S) Video input for playback of Laserdisc players,
high performance VCR and Toshiba Home Satellite Receivers reduces dot
crawl in the picture, providing sharper edge detail.
- Sleep Timer
The Sleep Timer allows you to fall asleep watching TV and have the TV
turn itself off up to three hours later (in 10-minute intervals).
- Tri-Lingual On-screen Display
Allows viewers to read menu selections in three different languages
(English, French, and Spanish) to ensure user-friendly programming.
- V-Chip Parental Control System
This feature allows adults to decide which show ratings are
appropriate for their children. The television will then block out the
video and audio of any program that has a rating beyond the selected
level. Adults can override the system at any time using their secret
code.
- Video Lock
This feature lets you lock out either all video inputs or all inputs
plus channels 3 and 4.
