I had been using several skimpy, cheap cables from 20 years ago. But a few of my audio/fiber connections were via Acoustic Research Performance series cables (purchased at [@]a few years back). I decided it was time to upgrade and was able to find these, so now all my cables are same color, configuration and makeup! It's a nice solid cable with molded connectors and good strain reliefs. Gold plated contacts to insure a good connection and low oxygen copper to keep the connection points from being brittle (contrary to "popular belief" low oxygen copper offers NO electrical advantages; it just insures the copper doesn't become brittle in spots where it has been heated during soldering etc). The cable has a nice thick, silicon rubber sheath that is very soft and flexible. And (of course) it works! :-)I'm a EE with 30 years in my field. Trust me; at audio frequencies (say 20hz to 24khz) a 3 foot long piece of cable offers *NO* significant capacitance or inductance. These cables "sound" no better/worse than $70 monstripoffs...
