This is a great sequel for Operation Flashpoint. OFP is fairly dated by now, at least graphics-wise. ArmA offers a slew of gameplay improvements in addition to the enhanced graphics, which still look good some 2 or 3 years after release, provided you have a decent computer. If you're looking for something that breaks the pattern of run-and-gun senseless action packed FPS you need not look further. This series is known for it's ability to provide you with the opportunity to have the most rewarding gaming experiences you could imagine. While playing online with real team mates is where the game truly shines, single player is still offers more than enough to make your purchase worth-while. The only setbacks, which come with any game that appeals to a niche group of gamers, is that the online community isn't very large. It may have been when the game first came out, but now with ArmA II on the shelves, the community is about as large as when Operation Flashpoint's community was split when ArmA was released. Aside from the relatively small amount of online players, there will be some frustrating times in store for you when you deal with some of the bugs or awkward mechanics of the game. But if you can handle the drastic differences between ArmA and a traditional FPS, you should be able to tolerate and fully expect that this is no perfect game. The good news is, there is a gigantic selection of downloadable and easy to use addons to the game, which range from weapons, units, sounds, islands, missions, gameplay, and just about any other form of game modification that is meant to keep your experience fresh, more realistic, or just overall better. The mod community is very talented and still active today. If the game sounds even slightly appealing to you based on what you've read, I guarantee you will not regret your purchase.

Make sure you have a decent computer to run this game as it takes a lot of resources to look excellent. Although it may not look as good, it will run on minimum settings well with a lower-end computer. Overall, it is a really fun game with intense game-play and a thorough environment.
