Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Holds up very well when installed correctly. The directions might be a little vague but if you're a handy person, you'll figure it out fairly easily. Holds up perfectly for the 42 inch TV and feels very secure. I'd recommend one if you live in CA. You don't want your TV to topple over in a tremor.
