I bought my first (and likely last) B&D hand mixer over a year ago. While it does have the ability to mix large batches of cookie dough without grunting and groaning, the LOWEST speed is TURBO speed...and then it gets even faster and faster with each increase! It won't do me any good if I need to mix something lightly...such as a muffin mix (which says to mix "only until moistened"). The only reason I had to buy this mixer to begin with was that my 30+ year old Gee Eee mixer finally bit the dust...I should have stuck with Gee Eee (does this save me from being unpublished?)...maybe would have lasted me until the end of my baking days!

As mentioned earlier, strong motor, but in just under a year and maybe 15 uses, the left beater stopped spinning. Nothing is made to last anymore.

The motor is very strong it could maybe move a car. The beaters came apart faster than a house of cards. This does make me wonder about how good other products are made now. Really sorry to say that I always loved to get Black and Decker items. I will give them one more chance before some one else gets my business. Just because of the my history with them.

Black and Decker has always been a good product to buy but not anymore. Purchased this as a replace and didn't even make it a month. Beater wires came apart and cannot use it anymore. Good luck finding replacement beaters. I've looked everywhere to no avail. Black and Decker products aren't worth the money.
