"Good receiver with great ...

Good receiver with great sound. Nice full color display, when you can load your own pictures or grab samples off the JVC website. I use the add on Sirius JVC connect tuner and the Sirius controls and display are about as good as you'll get on a mid-level headunit. Overall very happy with the unit. [...]

"General: I have had the ...

General: I have had the KD-SHX750 for about a week now. I have always been pleased with JVC and have put their stereos in all of my cars. I upgraded from the LH-3100. The menus on this model are similar to the 03 and 04 models. Very easy to navigate. You won't even need to read the product manual. Also you can't beat the display and overall look of this head unit. The screen savers and pictures on this head unit are Increadible!!!! Function:(POSITIVE +) This stereo has amazing sound. I have it in my 2002 Mustang and compared to my last JVC they have really stepped it up. There are so many new settings that really increase the sound quality. You can select the size of the car for better sound quality, also distance of each speaker to the drivers head for a much more realistic sound. Add to that the CC Converter and the BBE Digital sound assistance and you have a very powerful unit. It has an amazing ability to clarify the mids and highs without any distorion. The Equalizer is very easy to use and much nicer than many other decks treble and bass adjustments. Two of the best features are two of the newer features of many new decks by many different companies. These Features are the level and frequency adjustments which are very easy to access for quick adjustments while listening to a variety of music packed onto the MP3/WMA CD/SD's you will load into this thing. This deck has 5 volt outputs on its RCA's so I was able to turn my AMP WAY WAY down compared to my old 2 volt deck. Another great aspect of this deck is the SD card Slot. The manual recommends using only using 8 MB - 512MB SD cards. I ordered 2 - 1 GB SD Cards and I can tell you now that it was a great investment. If you burn a CD Packed with MP3's or WMA's and load a 1 GB SD Card with the same and have both in the unit at once you have about 1.6 gig of songs in the player at once, all you have to do is switch sources from CD to SD(CD-700MB, SD-approx 965MB with loaded drivers and software protection). When making your CD/SD's loaded with MP3's your music will sound CRYSTAL even as low as 128kbps. Usually I don't convert my MP3's that low but the deck does exactly what it says and restores many of the normally lost sounds usually lost when MP3's are converted to such a low quality. All my old MP3's were burned at 160 and I am hearing sounds at 128 that I didn't hear before at a much higher quality. So lower the quality and pack those CD's, they will sound great. On the topic of CD/SD's, the file organization and accessability are very simple. Another plus of the SD card is how fast it is. CD's have a delay from when you skip to the next song and when they actually play(about a second or more) where as the SD Card is immediate(atleast on my cards it is I have 2 - 66x speed cards and I don't know if that effects the speed on the deck or just the read write speed on the computer when loading files). Function: (Negative - ) I really have not found that much bad about this deck. I have been very pleased but I have tried to take note of certain things as I use it more and more. My main problem with it is that changing CD's is simple and quick(no problem there) BUT... to change SD Cards you have to remove the faceplate. For the most part you will place a card in and leave it there so there isn't much of a need to remove it often. Also the Remote isn't the most responsive, it works best when the face plate is in its normal position and not so well when you have it on any of the other 3 angles. Just thought of another thing that I don't like but I haven't seen many decks with this feature in a long time.... It has no PAUSE button, only an attenuator on the main rotary button but that only reduces the volume by 10 on the volume scale. That seems to be the standard anymore and I don't know why. Conclusion: If you are looking for a VERY FUNCTIONAL and POWERFUL deck..... This is the one you want. YOu can't beat the options you are getting for such a low price. It looks and sounds great and I can't wait for JVC's next new line. Also it is fun to play with the software that comes with the deck and make some of your own screensavers and welcome/exit screens. Buy this Stereo and enjoy.
