Good so far...
By southeast tx from Texas, USA on 07/07/2015
Pros:
Easy To Use, Compact
Cons:
Needs More Cooking Times Options On Unit, Expensive
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
I've used the rice cooker about a dozen times or more. Unit works as expected but some rices need more cooking time than others and may be hard or chewy. Presoaking rice 30 to 45 minutes helps somewhat, making it less chewy. Unit price seemed high for what you are receiving but I would buy it again tomorrow based on my experience.

I've only used it once so far. The rice came out perfectly with minimal preparation; just the right amount for me. Very reasonably priced, and compact for easy storage.

Excellent rice cooker, however grossly overpriced
By Bob from NYC on 05/21/2015
Pros:
Exceeded Expectations
Cons:
Expensive
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Easy to use, makes the best rice i ever eat, not good for brown rice. used white Tilda Basmati rice, with ghee, fried onions, celery, and mushrooms, soak one cup rice for 30 minutes, drain well, add two cups water, add ghee, onions, mushrooms, and celery. As mentioned great little cooker for one person, however overpriced. Note use the very best quality rice available

Perfect for one or two people

This takes up very little counter space and makes the perfect fluffy rice to feed one to two people. I bought this because I needed to make brown rice for my toddler and found that making just a little rice in my bigger rice cooker made rice that was overcooked and burned at the same time! My bigger rice cooker makes 5 cups, pretty average yield for a rice cooker, but given that we (family of 3) aren't eating that much rice, or even half, on an everyday basis, that one has since been put away unless we need the extra capacity for larger groups. In order to make a decent pot of rice in the regular (not the fancy fuzzy logic machines), you need to make at least half the capacity. This is also the perfect hotpot gadget for traveling! We traveled with our toddler, who only eats brown rice, boiled eggs, yogurt and cooked broccoli w/ soy sauce, and this took care of all the cooked foods. I had read that stewardesses and other traveling people who reach a destination at a time when hot food was unavailable also love this machine for ramen, or heating up a can of soup. I can see that! I have had this in my kitchen now for 4 years and it gets used almost daily. It has now adopted an additional use of steaming up a frozen meat/veg portion (in a small metal dish) for our elderly Pomeranian doggy. The only drawback is after awhile, the non-stick inner pot is starting to chip/degrade, and I don't know if I can get just this part reordered :(, which is not unusual these days.
