I bought the Terk because a twin-coil ferrite antenna I purchased, even after returning it, was not satisfactory. I am pleased with the [...] price from Beach Audio. The unit for me works hardwired to my classic 1979 Marantz ST400 AM/FM digital tuner and its companion 50-watt integrated amp. Without hardwiring it doesn't appear to work. The Terk makes a big difference in AM reception and is worth it, one-third of the cost of the twin-coil product. The tuning wheel works well and the specs state it adds 20 dB to the signal. I don't doubt that.

"Great product depending ...

By Joe The Tech / Hackettstown NJ Verified Reviewer from Undisclosed on 09/05/2006

Great product depending on use. If you a low quality table top or portable radio such as the COBY CX-CB91 9 band pocket radio YOU WILL BE AMAZED. With the Terk Advantage Antenna my little COBY radio has performance similar to my GE SUPER RADIO 3, but not quite. Now when I add this antenna to my GE radio (passive or wired) I see no improvement, most likely because the GE radio has a superb oversized ferrite core antenna built in. When I added this antenna to my AM/FM stereo system I got great AM results but unless you want to adjust the Terk every time you change the channel I would get a broadband amplifier.
