Thanks to the dye-sublimation printing process, the prints exit the printer completely dry and ready to handle, and with the final overcoat layer, they are even water-resistant! That means they are also marker ready in case you want to write a personal message on your photo. Prints produced with this technology can last up to 100 years

SELPHY Layout is the free companion app for the SELPHY printers that let you print, edit, and add fun effects right from your Smartphone. Now updated to V3.0, the SELPHY Layout app lets you organize how you want to print your images. You can create collages, choose which images you want to use for mini-stickers, add pattern overcoat effects, and even add QR codes to your prints to direct someone to a specific webpage. 

New finishing options

Most dye-sub printers can only produce glossy prints (because the final overcoat layer is glossy), but Canon has learned how to change the texture of the final print so that you can choose from glossy, semi-gloss and satin finishes. Additionally you can Print patterns into the overcoat layer to give your images a subtle pop of texture.
