HP 2-C is a high performance engine oil that improves performance and dramatically reduces wear in two-cycle gasoline engines. Its recommended for use in both pre-mixed and oil injected gasoline two-cycle engines in outboard motors, motorcycles, jet skis, chain saws, etc. HP 2-C increases horsepower and reduces fuel consumption, heat, wear and emissions. Its synthetic solvency keeps spark plugs and exhaust ports clean as well. Its performance advantages come from a blend of synthetic oils plus Royal Purples proprietary Synerlec additive technology. Synerlec significantly increases the oil film strength for optimum engine efficiency and maximum protection. HP 2-C is suitable for premix in snowmobiles, however, due to cold soak (low temperature pumpability issues with oil injected snowmobiles) Royal Purple recommends Snow 2-C for operation in temperatures below 20 degree Fahrenheit.

Motor oil is made from crude oil and is used to lubricate, clean, and cool engines. Types of motor oil include conventional, synthetic, diesel, bio-based, hybrid (blends of conventional and synthetic), and recycled oils. Motor oil varies in weight and viscosity, as well as additives that some manufacturers add to the oil during the refining process. A numerical code system created by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) grades motor oils according to viscosity--the higher the number between 0 and 60, the more viscous (thicker) the oil is. Most consumer motor oils are graded by two numbers, with the first number indicating cold weather (Winter or "W") performance.

This oil is specifically designed for 2-stroke (or 2-cycle) engines. 2-stroke engines are typically "total-loss lubrication" engines, meaning that this oil will burn up in the combustion chamber when the engine is on and will need to be replaced regularly. Common uses of 2-stroke oil are some motorcycles, lawnmowers, snowmobiles, marine outboard motors, and other small-engine devices.

This oil is a full synthetic oil, meaning crude oil is not used in making it. Synthetic oil can be used in vehicle engines instead of motor oils refined from crude oil, and often provides superior mechanical performance over traditional motor oil, including increased gas mileage and reduced engine wear at extreme temperatures. Its complex method of production means it can often cost more than conventional motor oil.
