Wool pads are best paired with rotary-type buffing tools, as they are more aggressive and easier to control when compared to foam pads. This is thanks to their greater available cutting surface, made up of thousands of fibers that deliver fast cutting action. Wool fibers also hold the polish to provide an even distribution of material, requiring less pressure from the operator to use when taking on projects such as removing sanding scratches. Alternatively, felt and foam pads are generally less aggressive and produce a finer finish than wool pads.
